Bridge House Hotel
The hotel is located in the very heart of Dublin city centre, in the Temple Bar area, which is famous for its nightlife, bar and restaurants, but is also well known as Dublin’s cultural quarter. The hotel is also about 5 minutes’ walk to Grafton Street, one of Dublin’s shopping districts. Other Dublin attractions are within easy walking distance. |

The Bridge House is a small, 3-storey, family-run guesthouse. The entrance door gives access to stairs, which, in turn, lead to the lobby. On the right of the reception desk, there is the breakfast room decorated with pale walls, complemented by wooden floors and dark wood furniture. The also an open kitchenette where the guests can help themselves to complementary tea and coffee. A full Continental breakfast is served every morning from 7.00 am to 11.00 am. Irons and ironing boards are available for guests on request. There are not any tea and coffee-making facilities in the rooms but there is complementary tea and coffee available in the breakfast room. The rooms in general are basic, old fashioned and in need of refubrishment.

Comment Convenient location, but also very noisy. You will need earplugs and some kind of sleep aid to knock you out. I recommend a few pints of Guinness. Also there's no air conditioner or fan in the room, and you have to shut the window at night to keep out the crowd noise, so be prepared for a hot stuffy room.

Comment i have never come across such unhelpfull, unfriendly staff in all my time of travelling!! not an irish accent to be heard among them!!room was ok but never cleaned in the time we were there.bathroom was tiny and its a lot of steps to room 12 (not for the unfit!!) we got what we paid for but would pay more to upgrade another time. Top Tip do the bus tour on the 1st day to give an idea what you want to see.went to see riverdance which is in dublin at the moment.FANTASTIC!!!!! street entertainment was also great and the guinness factory is not to be missed.
no shortage of places to eat but GALLAGHERS BOXTY HOUSE stood out. try their filled boxty pancakes.
I LOVE DUBLIN!!!and cant wait to go back.

Comment Upon arrival, I was told that the hotel overbooked the rooms, as they often do, and they had no room for me. Instead, they have booked another hotel for me and that they would pay for the taxi to take me to the other hotel. Another visitor who arrived after me decided not to stay there and that is how I remained.
There was no towel bar in the bathroom. All the towels were put on the bed, which may be nice upon arrival. But where would a visitor put them?
The bed was not comfortable. The surface of the bed felt uneven with springs.

Comment It was a shame that none of the staff knew how to smile, and asking for a pot of tea seemed like to was too much trouble even though we had actually paid for it... Top Tip Every thing........ Dubln is fantastic !

Comment The staff were helpful and very friendly. Hotel was clean, with bedding changed during the day, tea and coffee available all day, and they let us leave our suit cases there on the last day, as our flight was quite late. lots of stairs though, and no lifts so maybe not one for those with a dodgy back! A bargain price for a stay in temple bar. Top Tip Check out charlie's for a quick chinese tea on the cheap, tonnes of bars etc, all in walking (or staggering!) distance

Comment Unfortunatly when we arrived at this hotel, we were told there was a leak in our rooms amd moved to another hotel, so cannot comment on facilities. The staff behind the desk was not very helpful and ignored most of our questions. The decor of the lobby leaved a lot to be desired, we were quite happy to be moved to the Hazlebrook guesthouse which was great, although not in Temple Bar it was only a few minutes walk, Decoration was great, location good and friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel and not the Bridge House. Top Tip Bus tour a good way to start.

Comment A bit too basic for us. Right next to a very noisy road, with no rooms on the ground floor and no lift. The outside door intercom was broken, so we had trouble getting in, and the machine for making tea in the breakfast room was also broken, so I had to ask and wait for hot water each morning. Also the room was not ready when we arrived at about 4 in the afternoon. Hairdryer provided but no tea or coffee making facilities in room. Maybe this is usual in Ireland as per rest of Europe? Top Tip Temple Bar is a great part of Dublin to stay in - lots of night life, bars with music and good choice of restaurants. Our hotel was in a good location to enjoy it, but I'd pay more for better accommodation next time.
