The management and staff gave us exemplary service, the food was wonderful both the breakfast and the meal we had in the restaurant. We were celebrating our Pearl wedding anniversary and although we had not given them any advanced information about this they went out of their way to make a fuss of us.

There is a really good restaurant a couple of minutes away from Brooks called The Bistro. I would recommend the coach tour to Wicklow which we booked through the Information Centre.

We booked a twin being mother & daughter but were put in a double room. We were told that there were no twins available & that it was only a preference! I then complained and eventually we were moved to a twin. However a couple of German ladies were also given the same room & walked in on uss when we were both sleeping! Other than that the hotel was lovely & breakfast was good.

Visit Howth, fishing village 9 miles out of the centre. You can get a taxi for 25 Euro's to the summit and walk down. The views are amazing.

Hotel was lovely but was disappointed that our room wasn't ready on arrival when we had rang hotel in advance to request that the room would be ready as we had a very early start to our journey there that morning. We were sent away twice but were offered a drink as an apology. Room was nice apart from half painted wardrobes, think room was in middle of facelift. No bisuits with tea and coffe in room, which you would expect in a hotel like this. Breakfast was excellent and served until 11.30am which was a bonus, also check out time was at 12 which is unusual. When checking out we were told that we'd had chocolate from the minibar which was untrue, so not sure what had gone on there.Nice hotel with nice touches but let down by other not so good touches which wouldn't bother me if we hadn't paid as much as we did.

Powerscourt Centre is worth a visit with a impressive food hall and shops. Very deceiving from outside. Two minutes walk from hotel going in direction of Grafton street.59 South William Street, the large building with steps leading up to it and wonderful smell coming from it! If fancy a change from touristy pubs in Temple Bar then try Dawson Street, parallel to Grafton Street, especially Cafe en Siene for lunch and drinks on night.

The trip was a gift for my mothers birthday. When I contacted the hotel and mentioned this they pulled out all the stops to make sure her stay was memorable. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay and are looking forward to returning.

Dublin still has a problem with smoker standing outside pubs and similar places. We had clothing damaged by people brushing into us!

Restaunts were all great, if a little expensive.
