My friend stayed here I stayed at the Mercer Court both good hotels.
For a low cost short stay I would recommend the Mercer Court although a bit more basic.
For better facilities you may wish to pay the extra for the Russell Court. The main advantage for me that the Russell Court had over the Mercer was that it had not only a bar but a bar with at holiday atmosphere.

Used this hotel for a 40th birthday celebration. A short walk from the centre of town and all the action it was ideally situated. When the reviews say you'll need ear plugs they mean it purely because the outside bar stays open to about 6.00 am!! Good job we werent worried about being up to the early hours! Also had a problem with the heat - the rooms were stifling even with the window wide open all weekend (because it wouldnt shut!) If you're using the hotel for a base for the weekend it's perfect but not if you're expecting a peaceful and light hearted weekend!!! The reception area decor gives the impression that the hotel is very upmarket but the rooms are in need of updating and refurbishment.

Temple Bar at night is amazing.... and the shopping is absolutely superb. Take the open top bus tour - well worth it! Because of Dublin being so busy - suggest you book a restaurant - drop in tables are very hard to find!

I would say that if you were a party animal and wanted to move from night club to bed and back again this is the ideal place for you, hen/stag parties would be in heaven. However when they say there are nightclubs - be warned you will situated on top of loud music from 2pm -4.30am -complimentary ear plugs are given!Do not bank on being able to open your window or fresh air, have a shower that works or that security will let you back in after going out for tea - as the restaurant is permanently out of action except for breakfast time.

I would deffinatly say go to the theatre as it is so near by, the local village green is beautiful and as your at the hotel try the lunch time menu for 8 Euro's bargain.

i would not go to this hotel again it was in need of decorating thought the rooms were very tired they have concentrated on making the bars and clubs attractive to people but essentially this is a hotel for customers to stay it lacks thought and consideration to guests who are using the rooms the noise is unbelievable i dont mind club noise but this is beyond that might as well had a bed in the club.

2 nightclubs under the hotel which was noisy on the saturday night but we knew about it and didnt stop me sleeping after a day on the Guiness. Only 2 mins walk from Grafton Street for you shoppers and about 10 mins to Temple Bar for you drinkers and fans of Irish Music.

On arrival at the hotel we found ear plugs in our room, which should have sent alarm bells ringing, but didn't.
We stayed 2 nights at the hotel which were both sleepless. We were not informed at the time of booking that the hotel also doubled up as a nightclub, which operated until 4:00 am. Our rooms, number 201 & 203, were at the rear of the hotel and overlooked the nightclub. I asked at reception the following morning if we could be moved to an alternative room and was informed that the hotel was full so there were no other rooms available. This spoilt our entire visit which was a joint 25th Anniversary celebration for both my wife and I plus our guests. I expect an explanation and some form of compensation for a ruined weekend.

THIS IS A VERY LIVELY AND TRENDY HOTEL - WITH 2 NIGHTCLUBS ATTACHED - IDEAL FOR PARTY PEOPLE - EARPLUGS SUPPLIED IN YOUR ROOM LOL! THE BEER GARDEN WAS BEAUTIFUL - AND ITS FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. THE STAFF WERE LOVELY - AND VERH HELPFUL. THE ROOMS WERE DONE IN GEORGIAN DECOR IN KEEPING WITH THE PERIOD OF THE HOTEL - ABSOLUTELY LOVELY. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN!

TRY TO USE THE BUSES - STOPS ARE VERY CLOSE TO THE HOTEL IN A MAIN STREET BEHIND. MUCH CHEAPER THAN THE TAXIS. BUT THERES A LOVELY SHOPPING CENTRE - ST STEPHENS GREEN - VERY CLOSE BY ANYWAY WITH A BEAUTIFUL PARK AS WELL IF YOU WANT TO RELAX.
